The United States condemned the execution of Syrian blogger and activist Bassel Khartabil Safadi using the Syrian regime breaking Syrian news. In an assertion, the U.S. State Department expressed outrage over “the repeated acts of brutality, consisting of torture and extrajudicial executions, conducted by the Syrian regime.” The regime of President Bashar al-Assad “bears obligation for the enormous suffering, loss of life and destruction it has inflicted on its very own citizens,” the statement stated.

Khartabil’s widow, Noura Ghazi Safadi, wrote on Facebook early this week that she has acquired affirmation that protection services finished Khartabil in October 2015 after torturing him in prison. Ghazi no longer said in her Facebook message published overdue Tuesday how she had shown her husband’s death. Khartabil, a Palestinian-Syrian software program pioneer, was arrested five years ago in Damascus.
Khartabil, who was 34 at the time of his death, ran a software program development workspace in Damascus, which was recognized by the Syrian government and became a main contributor to Arabic Creative Commons, a framework for coding and criminal rights, that promotes the open distribution of software and thoughts, consistent with a Lebanese pal.

Creative Commons confirmed his execution in a declaration Wednesday. Creative Commons said he was taken from the street in Damascus in March 2012 amid a wave of navy arrests. The London-based human rights organization Amnesty International’s senior director of research, Anna Neistat, said: “his loss of life is a grim reminder of the horrors that take the region in Syrian prisons each day.”
